I wanted to share this post today as I was so sad to hear that a friend and past co-worker of mine lost his mother this week at the age of 80. I was invited to photograph her 80th Birthday two months ago and had such a wonderful time. She had over 100 people celebrating this wonderful birthday with her and I was able to capture it for her son. It just reminded me of how important it is to take pictures of the memories of life, both good and bad. For our memory can get blurred or even forgetful, but a photograph truly reminds you of that moment in time and lets it live on forever.

I loved this shot and wanted to share it.

Some More Pictures I Took From My Workshop in Chicago

I had the most wonderful time in Chicago this weekend! I met so many wonderful, amazing photographers, with whom I hope to stay friends with! The workshop taught me so many great photography tips as well as running my business in a more effective, productive way! Here a just a few shots I took from the weekend. I will share more later. Have so much to work on today!

Random Post :-)

I wanted to share a few random items. First is that I just recovered and painted my first chair! A little assistance from my hubby, but mostly on my own. I think this color is really cool for summer photos and I am planning to paint it a lot of different colors over the seasons and specific shoots I might have.

Second picture I wanted to share is a system the kids and I came up with today to help with behavior during the summer. They are going to be rewarded a penny for good behavior, manners, kindness and helping around the house. For bad behavior a penny will be removed from their respective jar. When they get to 30 pennies they will have an opportunity to hang out with mom or dad doing something special just them and their parent. Hope this helps with summer and some of the challenges we are faced with. Time will tell!

I am just a little excited!

I know I have shared a little on my facebook page, but I can't believe I am going to Chicgao this weekend for a awesome Photography Workshop! I originally started down my photography path about a year ago when I took a class from a local Photographer who since had moved to California. She gave me the tools and excitement that allowed me to take my love of photography from just a hobby to actually doing it for other people. She gave me such wonderful feedback this last month and encouraged me to attend this workshop in Chicago. I shared with her about how I found out about the workshop and she had taken it as well! In the last few weeks I have just connected with another photographer who took Kellee's class here in Toledo and is also going to Chicago! Such a small world. I am so excited to learn new photography skills, business ideas and how to grow as a photographer, as well as meeting other great photographers at the workshop! I can't wait to share with all my followers what I will have learned from this class!!!

My photo shoot on the East Coast

I had a great time last week enjoying the sun, boardwalk and life in the big city of NYC. I did a photo shoot of my family members while there and wanted to share a few of my favorite ones! This was the first time I went away from both my husband and children. I enjoyed myself, but had a really hard time being away from them! I did things I have never done before and felt like I was in another world! I tried using out my new watermark on a few pictures as well!
